The Acro World Tour 2018 kicks off in Norway
Spectators are due to flock to Voss, Western Norway to catch the first stage of the Acro World Tour (AWT) as part of the Ekstremsportveko festival - the largest extreme sport festival in the world – which runs from 23-29 June 2018.
Beginning on Sunday 24th June, acro paragliders from around the world will compete under battle format (if conditions allow), to qualify through to the next round. Incredible displays from the talented pilots make for a thrilling spectator sport, with big crowds anticipated at each stage of the Acro World Tour.
There are three qualification rounds, with results from the 16 top pilots put forward for the final event as part of the Sonchaux Acroshow, the World's most attended aerobatic free flight event, with around 25,000 visitors over the weekend.
The pilot awarded the highest amount of points throughout the season (best 2 Qualification stages + Finals) is the Winner of the AWT Overall ranking 2018.
The AWT is a FAI category 2 competition, organised by the Acro Paragliding World Tour.
