What’s up in this early Summer 2013?
Well, here in Europe the sun is finally back and it looks like we might have a real Summer after a very long Winter and hardly any Spring! So pilots are looking up and feeling happy. The flying season is on and strong…
In Annecy, France, a test-event was run for the World Championships in Class 1 Women, 2, 5 and Sport (July 3 to 13).
In Gemona del Friuli, Italy, the first stop of the Paragliding Aerobatic World Cup (July 8 to 14) saw 31 pilots from 14 countries fly solo and synchro. A success.
In Sopot, Bulgaria, the 13th Paragliding World is on right now (July 13 to 26).
In Cali, Colombia, Paragliding accuracy is getting ready for the big one: the World Games (July 25 to August 4).
Even though the sun is shining, commissions have been busy on Basecamp:
- Paragliding: Sopot organisation; scoring formulas, competition pilot proficiency certification, competition gliders requirements…
- Paragliding aerobatic: new manoeuvres and scoring the World Cup…
- Paragliding accuracy: judges and other officials, records and badges, harness rules…
- Hang gliding: airspace rules, local regulations…
- Software: WPRS, FS 2.0, Beta testing…
The Bureau is following everything closely. Or trying to…
Cheers to all and happy safe flying!
